About the Genomics Division
The Iowa Institute of Human Genetics (IIHG) Genomics Division provides a broad spectrum of resources designed to make the techniques of genomics, functional genomics, and recombinant DNA technology readily available to the University of Iowa research and clinical communities and outside users. Comprehensive support from experimental design and sample preparation through downstream analysis are available for all technologies.
The IIHG Genomics Division is a CLIA certified, College of American Pathologists (CAP) accredited laboratory. A select number of the Genomics Division workflows have been validated for clinical use. Staff training, instrumentation and quality assurance processes for these clinical workflows meet CLIA and CAP standards. Separate pipelines have been established for the processing of research samples to ensure prioritization of sample submission within each workflow.
The IIHG Genomics Division is supported by the Carver College of Medicine, Holden Comprehensive Cancer Center (HCCC), Roy J. Carver Charitable Trust, and user fees. Support of the IIHG Genomics Division by the HCCC is extended to HCCC members as compensation for some of the division’s services. Please contact the IIHG Genomics Division for HCCC rates.
